All our family gathered at the parking lot of the nature preserve. Cody and I arrived together in our car and we were welcomed by applause. We had a Django Reinhardt band waiting for us as well, and we all walked with the musicians playing for 20 minutes to this beautiful clearing in the woods where all the wild flowers were in bloom with purple and yellow crazy colors, which was also my man's idea."

RANDOM FACT: "The morning of our wedding we organized a bride vs. groom game of frisbee. The weather that day was 40 degrees, raining, and very windy. The inclement conditions likely contributed to an errant disc thrown directly into the face/nose of the bride (me).  The game was cut short and I suppose we will never know which team earned bragging rights. The good news is that by the time of the ceremony, with the aid of some ice, ibuprofen, and a make-up team no one was the wiser."

RANDOM FACT: "Our wedding was initially going to be on July 13, 2013. We booked the hotel, the band, the photographer, everything - well, almost everything. We didn't have a Rabbi yet, but we know lots of Rabbis (not to brag, but my family is swimming in Rabbis). So I send out digital save the dates and I'm feeling pretty great. Three days later, my parents call me to say that we can't get married July 13th. 'Scusi?' Apparently, they were chatting with one of their Rabbi friends who explained that the date we had chosen is referred to as Tisha B'av, which is 'A day regarded as the saddest day in the Jewish Calender, it is a day destined for tragedy.' Ooops? We cancelled everything, and sent out a retraction save the date. It featured a photo of our dog Sheldon wearing a tuxedo, and we blamed the whole thing on him."

RANDOM FACT: "My husband is Malay, of Chinese descent, and in Chinese culture the dragon and the phoenix represent a most auspicious pairing. It just so happens that Yeang was born in the year of the dragon, and I in the year of the rooster (the sign associated with the phoenix). How could we not have our wedding at Mass MoCA under a pair of gigantic phoenixes? The pair of birds were meant to represent us, and to give us some good juju for the future."
